Lidl Use Our Copywriting Services for Xmas Brochures
We’ve just completed a copywriting assignment for a series of Christmas brochures for the national supermarket chain, Lidl.
Lidl’s aim was to create a series of three Christmas brochures that would fully demonstrated their unique and premium range of products and how best to use them, using recipes provided by celebrity chefs Nick Nairn and Lesley Waters. We were enlisted to provide copywriting for all three brochures. Read More…
Print Catalogues
This series of Play.com print catalogues were featured within national newspapers with circulations of over a million. Each design reflects the lead product or feature of each issue, drawing from real game footage and promotional imagery to create a polished, reader-engaging result.
e-Catalogues for Play.com
Our e-Catalogues for Play.com are digital Flash magazines that incorporate live price and stock updates with product imagery/descriptions, and magazine style editorials. The resulting catalogues provided an easily digestible mix of both entertainment and call-to-action purchasing to engage buyers and boost sales.
Play.com sells a variety of electronic products as well as clothes and accessories, and is the second biggest online retailer in the UK.
Video Banners
The Super Video Banners for Play.com entice viewers into buying using real movie footage. Prices, RRPs and poster imagery are presented on the initial start screen, followed by real movie footage and tag lines, designed to tease and engage viewers with carefully selected moments from the full length feature.
Each banner starts muted by default so as not to encroach on users’ browsing but offers a highly visible and alluring ‘Unmute’ button. A direct call-to-action link to purchase the product is then provided for instant consumer gratification. Other facilities on video banner completion – like scrolling similar products – provide further opportunities for sales conversions.
Here at The Pixel we’ve successfully completed over 100 video banners, but we can’t show them all, so here are just a few examples of what we can do…
Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince
The Spirit
Quarantine
Watchman
Madagascar 2
Punisher
Video games have also been advertised using similar formats. Eg:
Little Big Planet – Sony Playstation 3
GTA IV – The Ballad of Gay Tony

Website Design – Fun4Kids.co.uk
The Fun4Kids website features a sunny yellow, red and blue, playful style to complement its playful outdoor product line.
A silhouette featuring playing children acts as a header throughout the site to maintain the theme, and a scrolling flash banner on the homepage promotes key selling products using a trailing mouse graphic for fun effect.
‘Top Sellers’, ‘Hot Products’, and ‘Recently Viewed’ sections also allow for fast product navigation, and a variety of cheerfully coloured right-hand banners promote further offers.
Website Design – EverGrip.com
The Evergrip website provides a corporate, professional theme that embodies the style of the company’s anti-slip products using a clinical square edged design.
Styled category imaging and a scrolling ‘Latest News’ section feature on the homepage to depict vocational examples of company products in use.
A header navigational menu changes colour on mouse-over for clear, confusion-free browsing, and consistent right-hand sections ‘Latest News’, ‘Online Quote’ and ‘Get Brochure’ provide a familiar go-to for users.
WebDesign – Take 2 Community
The Take 2 Community website uses gaming imagery and iconography to full effect. In electric blue and both dark and light grey colours, it projects an arcade style ambiance that heavily reflects its hub purpose, for gamers to meet and talk shop.
The homepage is split into a variety of sections; divided by game it allows users to quickly get content relevant to them, and by latest news and competitions, it gives users incentive to return.
Videos have been nested to give a wider range of media on arrival, and the navigation comes via an easy to use, colour changing, top tab facility.
Website Design – GreenGarden.co.uk
The homepage of GreenGarden.co.uk features two-tones of easy-going green that complement the white navigational borders to sum-up the peaceful tranquillity of the website’s design.
There’s a dramatic full-length display banner that sits prominently at the top, which makes use of high quality lifestyle aspiration photography. A thumbnail list at the bottom also presents users with additional imagery/info from which they can choose independently.
The product page features another large and detailed image, with a control panel that allows users to scroll left, right, up or down, and zoom in for greater detail. A ‘You might also be interested in…’ section is featured below to display similar products to promote further purchasing.
