Our Blu-Ray e-Catalogue for Play.com is a fine example of a digital Flash magazine that incorporates a Blu-Ray tutorial, live price and stock updates, product imagery and magazine style editorials.

Unlike most e-Cats out there (i.e. exact copies of traditional publications with no additional features), the Blu-Ray e-Cat provides the end user with a lasting memorable experience, entertainment and the ability to purchase items with one swift click.

The e-Cat has also been developed around a price and product feed system, so that when a product and its price is updated on the Play.com site, the e-Cat automatically updates itself within 10 minutes of the change. Another perk to this e-Cat is Play.com’s ability to easily track sales, whilst also tracking affiliate sites that push traffic from their own sites to Play.com, to generate revenue from commission based sales.

A magnifying device has been deployed that lets you zoom-in on products and words for a closer gander. Pages can be tagged with virtual bookmark type things for your future reference, and a one page overview featuring everything in the e-booklet lets you pick what most takes your fancy.

Videos have also been cunningly positioned to show tantalising tit-bits of films, to hook you and leave your pointer dangling over ‘Click here to buy’ expectantly.

This type of media keeps customers coming back for more gob-smacking entertainment, and of course, to buy things.
