What Can The Pixel Offer Your Magento Go Site?
Magento Go is an eCommerce platform that's aimed directly at small businesses and web merchants. Unlike Magento's other Editions, the intention of Magento Go is to provide a solution that can be set-up and run by users with moderate levels of computing skill – no specific expertise or training is required.
The payment model for Magento Go is what's known as Software as a Service (SaaS). Users pay a monthly fee to gain access to the software, and then Magento provides the server space to host the site in return. Four separate plans are on offer to cater to different sizes of business (see table left), and the main varying services across the plans are the levels of Magento support available and the amount of product SKUs you require for your product catalogue.
Any additional development and support offered by The Pixel would be priced on top of these monthly fees, although the expense of Magento Go development through The Pixel would be considerably lower than our rates for the higher-tier Magento Editions. Our services our ideal, then, for clients who require a low cost Magento solution but still want to be entirely hands-off in the development process. Equally, Magento Go sites can be upgraded to higher-tier Magento Editions by our developers at a later date, so this does provide an avenue for web start-ups to sample the platform before wading in deeper.
