With more than 700 employees, they pride themselves on their ethical employment ethos which respects everything they hold important: people and planet. David Austin Roses

David Austin Roses is one of the world’s leading rose nurseries. Founded in 1969 the nursery is home to one of the world’s largest breeding programmes, and remains a family business. We've been working with David Austin Roses since 2016, when we helped to migrate their international sites over to Magento Enterprise. It was immediately clear the company's previous set-up did not adhere to Magento best practice, which was causing the majority of issues being experienced. We updated and rebuilt, and are now responsible for the company's Magento support and development.

David Linley

David Linley is a London-based interior design studio, and makers of bespoke furniture and home accessories. The company cover all aspects of luxury design and refurbishment for private individuals & commercial projects. In 2016 we took over the Magento hosting and support for David Linley, helping to rebuild the current site to conform to Magento best practice. We've since been able to dramatically increase speed and efficiency (achieving a load time of 0.5 seconds) and have implemented ERP integration using the Patchworks extension.

Cycle Republic

Cycle Republic (part of the Halfords PLC Group) is a specialist cycling company stocking a wide range of high-end cycling equipment for everyone from urban commuters to off-road racers. Cycle Republic has been expanding its store network since 2014 and chose to make use of our in-depth Magento experience, asking us to take on their Magento hosting and support, which in turn would allow the client to focus on giving CycleRepublic.com customers the best possible experience. Both companies use the Agile Project methodology which has allowed us to work seamlessly in achieving our joint goals and objectives.

Read our Consortium Case Study
Consortium has been providing educational supplies to schools across the UK for the last 40 years, working with 400 audited suppliers and managing over 40,000 product lines. In addition to looking after Consortium's Magento hosting & support, in 2015 we embarked on a project to build a bespoke tool that allowed their customers to easily configure and purchase Exercise Books. The vast number of possible attribute option combinations for an Exercise Book (orientation, size, number of pages, colour, ruling etc.) meant that the process could have potentially put tremendous strain on the database. Creating a new Magento Product Type (named Builder Product - based on the Configurable Product Type) allowed us to create the functionality required to handle this complex operation. The tool was a tremendous success and in 2016 Consortium was shortlisted for the Best B2B eCommerce website at the eCommerce Awards for Excellence.

Bathroom Village

Established in 2010, Bathroom Village is a multi-channel retailer with five showrooms across the West Country selling a wide range of quality bathrooms with the latest displays and innovative products. The company aims to provide product information of the highest detail, so that customers can make an informed choice whilst buying online and in-store – a key requirement of the project specification. We worked with design partner Phoenix Wharf to rebrand and redesign, creating a new, industry-leading online Magento store, that's also fully mobile responsive.

Just Ingredients

Just Ingredients offers the UK’s largest online range of dried herbs, spices, botanicals and wholefoods. When they came to The Pixel with their ambition to develop their eCommerce platform, we recognised a fantastic opportunity to help grow a truly unique and niché UK business. We were given the challenge to provide them with a fully responsive, mobile optimised site. There was additional complexity by having to integrate three branded sites (Just Ingredients, Just Ingredients Trade & Just Botanics) into one, so that they could be accessed with ease by their customer base whilst feeling part of a branded family. The end result was a visually striking website with excellent user functionality.

We're very proud to have played a part and seen Fun4Kids, originally a small family run business providing outdoor toys for children, develop into a multimillion pound eCommerce enterprise. We implemented Magento Community back in 2008 to give Fun4Kids the full range of functionality they required, and allowing the business to expand. In the year 2008-09 Fun4Kids saw growth of 230%. The business continued to grow and upgraded to Magento Enterprise in 2012 combined with our fully integrated Magento ERP system. Magento Enterprise enabled Fun4Kids to enhance their up-sell and cross-sell capabilities, and to provide product reviews to increase customer confidence and engagement. The business continues to see increased revenue year-on-year, and is currently in the process of upgrading to Magento 2.

Gill Marine – maker of ultra-technical sailing clothing – approached us at the end of 2014 to re-platform their existing eCommerce businesses, comprising a B2C website servicing over 20 countries and a unique Magento B2B website offering direct sales to distributors across the world. We worked with Gill’s business logistics software system, integrating it with our own ERP solution to enable processing of orders, stock management and customer management via Magento Enterprise. The final solution included multi-site setup and translations, gift cards, speed performance with full page cache, advanced catalog search, and the Magento 1.14 responsive (RWD) base framework to work simultaneously across desktop, tablet and mobile.

Read our Bulkpowders Case Study
BulkPowders is a leading supplier of bodybuilding supplements and sports nutrition products. Established exclusively online in 2005, BulkPowders approached us in 2011 to migrate to Magento Enterprise in order to expand its business and take advantage of the open-source platform. Ensuring the new system worked seamlessly with their current order management system (Sage 200) was paramount, as was retaining the complex product stock inventory settings to ensure seamless and full order management control. The new site also featured an interactive AJAX 'Add to Cart' feature to allow seamless browsing without page loads, dramatically improving performance and conversions.

Howies is an active clothing company that believes in making high quality, low impact products for its customers’ sports and day-to-day lives. They approached us in 2011 with an existing eCommerce site based on Magento Professional. It was clear to us the site had not been built to Magento best practices, and the hosting solution was unsuitable for the platform. After extensive research with the aid of the client, we rebuilt the site from the ground up to the highest certified standards, using our own dedicated Magento hosting solution. The new site featured multi-store set-up providing unique content in English, French and German, custom module development for social media and product galleries, a new simplified checkout process with postcode lookup, and a 'Help Us Grow' reward scheme.

We've been working with Party Pieces since 2014 when the site was originally using Magento Community. Party Pieces has since experienced an increase in performance and sales growth of 12% in the last two years.

Established in 1974, Baker Ross is a family run business whose innovative ideas have led to it becoming one of the leading suppliers of arts & crafts to schools and organisations across the UK. Baker Ross required a solution to migrate their current site away from its existing bespoke platform towards an open-source solution. We migrated the site to Magento back in 2012 to allow the company access to the vast and active developer open-source ecosystem. The new site featured ERP integration, internationalisation with 12 additional stores worldwide, and a custom checkout that integrates with the Collect + service.

Lyco.co.uk & Lighting-Direct.co.uk

Lyco and Lighting Direct are leading suppliers of lighting equipment, specialising in the B2B and consumer markets respectively. In 2012 we were tasked with migrating the client to Magento Enterprise in order to expand the business and take advantage of the flexible Magento open-source platform. The project required the launch of both lyco.co.uk and partner site lighting-direct.co.uk simultaneously, requiring strict planning and management, and saw us take on the redesign of both sites using design partner Phoenix Wharf, creating separate mobile and desktop themes.
