Last month at MagentoLive UK 2017, Magento announced significant changes to the branding of its current product line.

‘Magento will be renaming its flagship platform Magento Enterprise Edition…to ‘Magento Commerce”

The changes include the rebranding of its commerce suite, which will now be called the ‘Magento Cloud’. The renaming is designed to better align with customer needs and reflect the growing adoption of its technology platform. Magento will be renaming its flagship platform Magento Enterprise Edition (and Magento Enterprise CE) to ‘Magento Commerce’. Magento Community Edition will now be know as ‘Magento Open Source’ – a bid to show recognition to its contributing global ecosystem – and Magento Commerce Order Management will be renamed to ‘Magento Order Management’.

‘The record-breaking year saw a 42% year-over-year growth in new license revenues in Europe’

At the same conference Magento also announced significant growth and adoption of its next generation cloud platform across Europe. The record-breaking year saw a 42% year-over-year growth in new license revenues in Europe. Magento’s impressive momentum is a result of its long-term vision and expanding global ecosystem of partners and developers in the European market.

Other highlights from the last year include: the growing adoption of the Magento 2 platform to over 12,500 live sites, the availability of more than 1,300 extensions in the Magento Marketplace, and significant investment in platform enhancements including Magento Business Intelligence, Social, Advanced CMS and Shipping.

Magento has increased its presence in the UK and across Europe, Middle East and Africa regions with dedicated sales, marketing, customer support and development personnel. The company is also actively growing strategic partnerships in the EMEA region with technology vendors such as Amazon Pay, Vertex and Nosto, to name a few.

“Over the past year, we’ve seen increased demand and accelerated adoption of our commerce suite across B2B and B2C merchants in the region”

“In the age of the customer, merchants must anticipate and deliver exceptional customer experiences that are true to their brand, and distinguish themselves from the competition. The Magento Commerce Cloud offers merchants the agility they need to innovate and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving and competitive environment,” said Mark Lavelle, CEO of Magento. “Over the past year, we’ve seen increased demand and accelerated adoption of our commerce suite across B2B and B2C merchants in the region, and more than 60 percent of our new customer deals are with our cloud-based digital platform.”
