


KCS Education is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of educational and business essentials, serving schools, nurseries, and a growing base of non-education B2B and B2C customers. With roots in the public sector, KCS has evolved into a modern, service-led business, placing digital transformation at the heart of its growth strategy.





To support that shift, KCS needed a modern, scalable website that could handle complex B2B buyer journeys and meet rising expectations for ease, speed, and clarity. Their legacy platform lacked the personalisation, flexibility, and user experience needed to serve a diverse customer base—from headteachers and finance managers to new non-education buyers.


Over a 2.5-year partnership, KCS and The Pixel adopted an iterative, data-led approach—continually refining the site based on user feedback and CRO insights. Enhancements were prioritised by impact and usability, ensuring that technical improvements aligned with commercial goals and customer needs.
In collaboration with The Pixel, KCS redesigned its eCommerce platform to deliver faster, more intuitive journeys tailored to each user role. The new site features an improved product configuration flow, smarter product discovery with Adobe Live Search, a custom Exercise Book Selector, and enhanced delivery information. It supports both B2B and B2C segments, aligns with procurement systems, and offers a seamless experience across devices.
